Honeymoon Planning
Just like planning a written report or news article, you have to know the who, what, when, where and how in regards to your honeymoon planning. The who and what portions of the planning are no-brainers as the who refers to you and your intended while the what refers to the honeymoon. So do you have any ideas as to the when, where and how in referring to your honeymoon planning?
Typically, most honeymoons occur within a few days of the wedding ceremony although that is not always the case. Some people will plan the wedding based on school or work schedules and plan a honeymoon trip later when both parties can get a large chunk of time off for vacation. Others will decide where they want to go first and then decide on the when in regards to honeymoon planning. If you and your intended have your hearts set on a skiing vacation, then the obvious when in regards to honeymoon planning will be sometimes in the winter months. However, in seeking a tropical destination, the when could occur at any time of year.
Knowing where you are going is crucial to the where part of honeymoon planning. For strict budgets, you will likely stick close to home with the idea of going all out in a few years on a more extravagant vacation. Looser purse strings might see you venturing abroad to foreign countries either by cruise ship or by plane. The where in honeymoon planning is also influenced by what you and your intended’s likes and dislikes are in terms of weather and available activities. Tropical settings offer up the most opportunities for newlyweds and they are also romantic as well.
Unfortunately, the buck sometimes stops right where you don’t want it to – your dream destination for your honeymoon. Unless you want to be in debt for a few years while you pay off your dream honeymoon, it pays to be more sensible in your honeymoon planning. There is no reason not to choose a destination based on what your budget will allow and still plan that dream destination vacation for a later date. For some couples, a cruise makes economical sense in terms of the how of honeymoon planning. Your food, drink, activities and accommodations are not only under one roof but also part of one price. Plus, with this type of honeymoon, you can still see new places each time the ship makes port during your cruise. Let your budget dictate what you can and cannot afford in terms of your honeymoon destination. Honeymoon planning doesn’t have to be rocket science, just plain old common sense with a hint of dreams and romance thrown in.
A-Z In Wedding Planning
Many brides become exhausted and nervous before the wedding, because they fear that things are not going to go as planned. They worry about tripping over their gown, falling on their shoes, messing up their make-up, but most of all, they worry that they have forgotten something in the planning stages. In order to alleviate those fears, the bride and anyone who is helping with the planning can follow some tips to prevent anything from going wrong.
Invest in a wedding planner book - available in all bookstores.
Make a list of everything you need to do and at what stage of the planning process. This will depend upon the amount of time between the commencement of your engagement and the wedding. The more time you have, the less stressful the planning will be.
Don't make the mistake of thinking you can do everything. Enlist the help of any friends and family who offer. Encourage your fiancé to join you in the planning process, especially with the guest list. It is his wedding, too, so he should not be exempt from helping with the decision-making.
As you complete each task, cross it off your list and go on to the next thing. Remember to have a list of things that need to be completed before the wedding, as well as a list for those things you wish to confirm a few days before the wedding.
If you're planning to have a band instead of just a disc jockey, allow enough time for auditions, unless you have heard the band. You don't want to hire someone who advertises a good price and then find out they do not play the music you want or are amateurish and not quite ready for professional gigs. You want to pay for talent, not someone who is just learning to perform.
It is difficult work to plan a wedding, but the more time you have to plan it, the less stressful it will be. Even if you have been dating for a long time and are in a hurry to make everything legal, don't rush into marriage. Enjoy your engagement and allow yourselves an opportunity to carefully plan your wedding. By taking your time instead of rushing, you stand less chance of forgetting something, and you can take your time obtaining quotes and locating all of the things you need for your wedding.
For wedding planning ideas, the Internet is a great source of information. In lieu of a wedding planner, many sites offer complete wedding planning without the expense of someone planning the event for you. You can buy everything from invitations to decorations and even wedding attire. In addition, you can plan your wedding trip and not even have to leave your home. That makes the process more relaxing, less tiresome, and allows you to plan everything when you are free to do so without worrying about store hours. Planning your wedding online leaves you with little to do in person except for choosing your dress and confirming deliveries such as flowers, food, and even the photographer.
Fairytale Wedding: Planning the Wedding of Your Dreams
Planning your Phoenix wedding is an exciting experience especially when it's a fairytale wedding. Fantasy weddings are probably one of the most popular themed weddings. Every single girl has dreamed for years of walking down the aisle to her Prince Charming in her stunning ball gown feeling like a real fairytale princess. It is a sight to behold and a pleasurable memory to relive in your wedding photography Phoenix. It is a long lived fantasy which will finally become a reality.
Fairytale wedding creates the atmosphere of royalty and romance. Let your imagination be your guide as you plan a fairytale wedding. There is absolutely no limit to the creative ideas you can incorporate in every aspect of the wedding. Here are a few ideas you can use to make that fantasy wedding seem like it came straight out from a fairytale book.
A great idea is to arrive in the wedding ceremony in a carriage pulled by a white horse.
When choosing for that perfect wedding dress, go for sophistication and glamour. Ball gowns complete with a petticoat will look absolutely beautiful. For a more full-out princess look, do not forget to wear a tiara, opera-length gloves and a floor length veil.
The bride's hair with look romantic in a half or full updo with cascading ringlets.
The shoes should be strappy and sparkly or you can still opt for wearing glass slippers for a more princess-like effect.
For the bridesmaids, choose dreamy dresses that match your color scheme.
Black tuxedos for the groomsmen will look stunning next to the bridesmaids. For the groom to stand out and look more like a Prince Charming, a white tuxedo is worth considering.
The invitation is an essential element in depicting the fantasy theme. It can feature elements like carriages, castles or glass slippers. But if you refer something more formal, choose elegant fonts and style for the wedding invitations.
To complete the fairytale experience, book your ceremony and reception in a castle. If you do not have the access to a castle then a ballroom is close enough.
Centerpieces for this type of wedding should be grand. Sparkling ice sculptures are perfect centerpieces that can create a dramatic effect. If you live in a warmer climate and ice sculptures are not an option, use candelabras or towering vases filled with fantasy floral arrangements.
Classic choices for flowers arrangements are usually used in this type of wedding. Roses are the popular choice. The bride's bouquet will typically be a hand tied bouquet of roses or a cascading style of lilies. Flowers and candles are essential in pulling off a fairytale look.
Make a grand entrance at the reception by going down a spiral staircase or by using a spotlight. A romantic waltz for your first dance with your fiancé will definitely add a personal touch to the wedding.
Do not forget to set the mood by your choice of music. Hire a harpist or a string quartet at least during the ceremony. Then later on, let the DJ play songs that will create a dreamy atmosphere.
Planning a fantasy wedding is an awesome experience. There are so many fairytales to choose from and it can sometimes be an overwhelming task. The plan is to create an atmosphere of fantasy and enchantment. Imagine how the whole illusion of a princess bride will look in your wedding photography Phoenix. It will be a wonderful wedding experience not only for you and your husband but all your guests as well.
Planning Wedding Songs - 3 Points To Consider While Making Your Plans
Wedding songs are the life and soul of your wedding celebrations. They set the mood of the celebrations from the beginning to the end. Choosing the best songs for your wedding day celebrations can enhance the joyous mood of the day and make it a memorable event.
The weddings of the past featured traditional wedding songs. Today, couples can choose from a wide range of music. Choosing the best songs for their wedding celebrations is the most exciting aspect of the wedding day celebrations.
Couples usually select songs that are deeply significant to them in a special way. Playing such songs on the wedding day makes it a unique and personal experience for them. For example, a couple could select a song that they heard during their first date or a few songs of their favorite singer.
Consider the following points when you select your wedding day songs:
1. Venue
Select songs that suit the venue you have chosen for your wedding day celebrations. Wedding ceremonies are usually conducted in a church, and couples must first ascertain whether the church authorities allow their favorite music to be played within the church premises. Some churches are particular about the type of songs that should played during the services.
Other venues might not have placed any constraint on the type of songs that can be played. In any case, choose sober songs for your wedding ceremony, not the type of songs that might be in sharp contrast to the solemnity of the occassion. You can play all the amusing and entertaining music you like at your reception.
2. Music Band
Select a good DJ or music band that will create great wedding music for you. If you have decided to have a traditional wedding, you might hire a classical ensemble to play at your reception. If you are having a quiet wedding at home in the company of your friends and family members, you could get a flute trio, a solo pianist, or a string quartet to play your classical wedding music.
3. Planning Wedding Songs
Couples have to select several songs for their wedding. In fact, you have to select different types of songs for six different aspects of the wedding.
Prelude music is joyous and festive and is played chiefly to welcome family members and friends to your wedding ceremony.
The wedding procession marks the beginning of the ceremony, and the songs played at this time are to welcome the gathering and to alert the guests that the bride is about to enter.
A bridal procession is the most important part of the ceremony. Many prefer the conventional bridal march. However, the practise of playing different type of music during it can make it a unique and memorable event. Besides, it is quite acceptable in the modern days.
During the interludes, you can use a variety of songs to enhance the emotional charging of the environment.
Festive wedding songs should played during the recessional because the music is to celebrate the fact that the couple are now officially united.
The music of the postlude is more grateful, full of thanks to the guests who have made it to the wedding ceremony.
Unique Wedding Venues - Wet, Wild & Wacky
Want to get married in a unique wedding location that is as unique as the two of you? Forget the same-ol'-same-'ol venue and go for something wet, wild or wacky.
Wet
You have many choices when it comes to water weddings. You can have a submarine wedding in Hawaii, a snorkeling wedding in the Caribbean, or a wedding on a tall ship in Chicago. Or, you can push the envelope just a little bit further and go for something truly unique - a wedding in the world’s only underwater hotel.
The Jules’ Undersea Lodge in Key Largo, Florida is truly underwater, with guests having to scuba dive 21 feet beneath the surface of the sea and enter through an opening in the bottom of the lodge. Wedding ceremonies are held inside the lodge, which consists of a wet room entrance area, two bedrooms and a common room, which is a combination kitchen, dining and living room area. Imagine having your honeymoon underwater, snuggled in your bed while watching the fish pass by your window.
Your wedding ceremony is conducted by a notary public, who dives down for the service, followed by a toast and the cutting of the cake, which, yes, has remained dry. For dinner you are offered a caviar appetizer and choice of two entrees, either lobster or steak and a hearts of palm salad and dessert. Your meal is prepared by a chef who scuba dives to the lodge. The chef will also scuba dive to the lodge the following morning and prepare breakfast. The Jules’ Undersea Lodge wedding is perfect for those who wish to elope to an unusual location.
The cost for the Jules’ Undersea Lodge is $1,495 plus tax. If you have any extra guests attending the wedding you will be charged an additional $60 per guest. Call (305) 451-2353 for more information.
Wild
What could be more wild than a shotgun wedding or a wedding at a haunted hotel?
With a wedding and honeymoon in Oatman, Arizona, you get both. Where's Oatman, you ask? It's an historic ghost town 20 miles southeast of Laughlin, Nevada, formerly a thriving mining town during the gold rush. Oatman today is a tourist town with daily wild west shootouts and shotgun weddings. Oatman is also where you'll find the Oatman Hotel, where, in 1939, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard spent their wedding night.
It's said the Oatman Hotel is haunted by numerous spirits, including, some say, Clark Gable and Carole Lombard, a former chambermaid and an Irish miner who once lived there. It's said staff and guests of the hotel have heard the spirits of Gable and Lombard laughing from their honeymoon room. There are also reports of the sound of bagpipes coming from the room of the Irish miner, whose spirit is referred to as "Oatie"
For information regarding shotgun weddings, you can call 928-768-8063 or 928-768-3839. For reservations to The Oatman Hotel you can call 928-768-4408.
Another wedding venue which many consider haunted is Thayer's Historic Bed and Breakfast in Annandale, Minnesota, which is owned by a psychic, Sharon Gammell. Thayer's specializes in interactive mystery dinners, ghost huntings, psychic readings and small weddings, which, if you choose, can be officiated by Gammell. Built in 1895, Thayer's Historic Bed and Breakfast is said to be the home of several ghosts, including the original owners, Caroline and Gus Thayer and some of their friends. And, for you cat lovers, Thayer's is also the home of three resident ghost cats (as well as some living cats).
Annandale is just a little over an hour's drive from the Twin Cities International Airport. For more information call 800-944-6595.
Wacky
For one of the wackiest wedding experiences, try Star Trek the Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton, where you can have your ceremony on the Bridge of the USS Enterprise 1701-D. You minister will perform your wedding ceremony dressed in Starfleet outfits while intergalactic wedding music plays in the background. Depending on the Wedding package you choose, you can have your choice of one to three Star Trek characters present at your wedding: Klingon, Ferengi or BORG.
You can also choose to have your wedding reception inside Quark's Bar or the Captain's Lounge, depending on the size of your wedding party. You can have your choice of different reception menus, but I'd definitely go for the Romulan Warbird, which is a marinated chicken breast served with wild rice pilaf and seasonal vegetables. Wedding cakes come with the Star Trek logo on them.
Hopefully some of the above wedding ideas will either appeal to you, or get you thinking about other creative and unique ways to celebrate your wedding. Maybe wet, wild and wacky weddings aren't your thing. Maybe eloping to Hawaii or Las Vegas is what you want. Whatever you decide to do, make it special.
