Wedding Poem ; In Memory

We wish that [name] could be with us
This very special day,
'Cause he [or she] was like a rush of sun
Before he went away.

We light this candle so that we
Might bring him here awhile,
As we remember his bright flame,
His laughter and his smile.

We wish that he could share with us
The happiness we feel,
'Cause knowing that he knew our joy
Would make it all more real.

But even though he's not with us,
His presence is still strong,
'Cause in his heart we'll always find
The love for which we long.

Note: If you don't want to have a candle-lighting ceremony, simply leave out the second verse. Also feel free to change the poem to the plural

Wedding Poem ; WILL YOU STILL LOVE ME

Will you still love me
When I grow old and gray?
Will you still recall
The young girl
You carried away
As your bride
On a rainy day
In Fall?
Will you still hold me tight
Like on our wedding night?
Or, will you forget
The first day we met
In Summer
When roses were blooming
And birds were singing?
Will our cheerful laughter
Still be ringing in your ears?
Will you still remember
All the happy years
We spent together?
Please keep the glowing light
In your heart, for me forever.

Wedding Poem

This is your wedding day
and in your eyes
the light of love
is brighter than the stars.

Your heart is full of hope
with all the joyful promise
this all brings.

And the promise will come true,
if you remember this one thing,
Just love each other
as you are,
Don't try to change
this person you found
and learned to love.
Let your love be
the greatest gift
you both receive
and when you do
the love will last through all
as the light that lights
the evening sky.

wedding poems : Love Can Be like Lightning

Love can be like lightning: all of a sudden
Electric shock goes tingling to the toes.
In some, however, it can come quite slowly,
Spilling over sandbags as it grows.

However love first shows itself, a marriage
Alters all its labyrinthine ways:
Seismic shifts deep down restructure mountains;
Homes jiggle as some expectation sways.

All you have and are is now together.
Love shapes not just your feelings but your lives.
Each must choose each day to love the other,
Needing more than life what love decides.

wedding poems : I Am the Happiest I've Ever Been

I am the happiest I've ever been.
My loneliness will be forever gone.
When you're away, my empty feelings spin,
But after this, I'll always be at home.
You're the only person in the world
From whom I cannot stand to be apart.
But now in your devotion I'll be curled,
Just as you'll take shelter in my heart.
And so we two create a separate thing
In which we dwell mystically as one.
Neither you nor I will solo sing
Once this strange new harmony's begun.
How sweet to join with you in this new life,
Not only as myself, but as your wife.

wedding poems ; Hold My Hand and I'm Yours

Hold my hand and I'm yours,
And your heart will stay close to mine,
For I know the sun must rise with the dawn,
And at night the stars must shine.

And the wind must wander the ocean
And sing with the waves of the sea;
Just so, I know, I'll be by your side,
And you will be wedded to me.

And you will be wedded to me, my love,
And I will be wedded to you;
For I know the tide must turn with the moon,
And the spring must return ever new.

And the sky must weep that the hillsides
May laugh in the green of their joy;
And the leaves must turn red, brown, and gold
That the earth might their riches employ.

And love like a mad, swollen hunger,
And love like an unending song,
And love like the silent pull of the Earth
Shall be with us all our lives long, my love,
Shall be with us all our lives long.

My country love

If you passed her in your city
You would call her badly dressed,
But the faded homespun covers
Such a heart in such a breast!
True, her rosy face is freckled
By the sun's abundant flame,
But she's mine with all her failings,
And I love her just the same.

If her hands are red they grapple
To my hands with splendid strength,
For she's mine, all mine's the beauty
Of her straight and lovely length!

True, her hose be think and homely
And her speech is homely, too;
But she's mine! her rarest charm is
She's for me, and not for you!

wedding poems ; Getting Married Means You'll Have

Getting married means you'll have
Someone's hand to hold,
Even when you're feeling sick,
Even when you're old.

It means when you sit down to eat,
Someone will be there,
So you won't have to tell your day
To an empty chair.

It means that you can have some kids
Just like a mom and dad,
And play with them all afternoon,
Except when they are bad.

It means that when you need some help,
Someone will help out,
Someone always near to you
So you won't have to shout.

But best of all is when it's time
To turn out all the lights:
You won't have to be alone
Those long and scary nights.

So even though you don't have toys,
You don't have to care:
Once you're married you can be
Each other's teddy bear!

wedding poems ; All My Happiness Goes Out to You

All my happiness goes out to you:
Pride and pleasure, joy, sweet tears, and love!
Reason, hope, and faith together move
In harmony to bless all that you do.
Let this beginning be the golden dawn
At which all dew-drenched nature sings its glory!
Nor should the darkness shrouding every story
Dim the blue-eyed beauty of this morn.
More of life will come than you can hold:
A flood no mortal witness can withstand.
Rest, then, within a quiet, gentle hand,
Knowing where love is as you grow old.

wedding poems ; Angels Just Love Weddings, Don't You Think

Angels just love weddings, don't you think?
No one sees them, but we know they're there,
Golden halos lassoing their hair,
Embodying a love beyond the brink.
Love draws them in like revelers to drink,
Alive in love, breathing love like air,
Amorous in ways we could not bear,
Needing us to be love's earthly link.
Do, then, with an angel's ecstasy,
Make your lives an amorous delight,
Intimate in ways both sure and sly,
Chaste but in the chamber of your love.
Heaven is not quite a fantasy;
Angels hover near, awaiting night.
Eden was a place where none was shy,
Loving as the naked lust might move.

wedding poems ; Dove Poem

Two doves meeting in the sky
Two loves hand in hand eye to eye
Two parts of a loving whole
Two hearts and a single soul

Two stars shining big and bright
Two fires bringing warmth and light
Two songs played in perfect tune
Two flowers growing into bloom

Two Doves gliding in the air
Two loves free without a care
Two parts of a loving whole
Two hearts and a single soul

wedding poems ; Welcome to Our Family

Welcome to our family,
Beloved of the child we love!
Come join us in what is to be
And share with us what time will prove.
Dear lover of the child we love,
Whom we now love as if our own,
Come share with us what time will prove
And make our house and hearts your home.

Whom we now love as if our own
Because on you our own has smiled,
Come make our house and hearts your home
And be to us another child.

Because on you our own has smiled,
Come join us in what is to be
And be to us another child.
Welcome to our family!

wedding poems : Husband and wife

Today we begin the rest of our life
Together forever as husband and wife.
Our dreams came true, with love and more—
Adventures to have and the world to explore.

We’ll share our joys, we’ll share our sorrows;
We can already see many bright tomorrows.
We’ll share our friends and family, too,
And you are part of that special crew.

Thank you for celebrating our wedding day.
As we share our vows, we just want to say:
These wedding memories will become a treasure,
And seeing you here is part of the pleasure.

A Wedding Is the Entrance to a marriage

A wedding is the entrance to a marriage:
One drives through, and suddenly one's there!
Stepping from a fairy tale carriage
Into quite ordinary air.
Life is now a dance, though beautiful,
Requiring intense coordination;
Each self becomes, in ways inscrutable,
More fully what it is in combination.
And we who love you wait, of course, outside
As you become through love that mystery:
One flesh made whole of separate groom and bride;
Two selves, one life; two notes, one harmony.
When you are one, we then may cherish two:
Loving not just one, but both of you.

Asian Wedding Favors For A Garden Wedding

by Grace Cheung

The Far East holds many mysteries and beauties in its culture which you must consider in selecting you Asian wedding favors. Evening garden weddings are filled with romance and mystery as the ceremony unfolds under a starlit sky. These exotic qualities represent a theme like no other.

That strange and exotic mood permeates the scene and brings closeness to all who attend the wedding. With thousands of guests attending the Asian wedding and the number of celebration days, the Eastern wedding is very different from the weddings of the West.

The colors to emphasize at your Asian wedding are deep reds, rich yellows and elaborate golden hues. Your Asian wedding favors should mimic these colors. Please bear in mind that white, navy and black should not be used.

"Chinese Tapestry" is the lovely name for a candle that can be given as a wedding favor. Unlike other candles, this Oriental treasure is red in color and it is a masterpiece. Packaged it with the red organza and the "double happiness" gift tag says it all...elegant and traditional.

Other choices you have include small green candles and plumeria-scented candles. These candle favors can also be used as the place card holders at the wedding and after your guests return home.

Symbols are especially important in the Asian wedding. Use of the OM and dragons are essential. In the garden wedding you must include the motifs of Nature. Use herleaves and flowers and petals to enhance your Asian wedding favors. One lovely and elaborate Asian wedding favor is the "Double Happiness Box" shown off with its shiny gold bow.

Another impressive and important design of Eastern culture is silk. Your wedding favors that depict your wedding as Eastern (Chinese or Japanese) will become very elegant keepsakes for your guests. Notebooks covered in brocade, purses and boxes showing off lovely silk brocades are all very wonderful Asian wedding favors. Imagine a gift of beautifully decorated chopsticks in cherry blossom design.

Green is an important symbol in Asian culture. Use the color green as a symbol for your Asian garden wedding and make being "green" the message of your eastern wedding favors. Choose seed packets and miniature watering cans. You also have a choice of chocolates shaped like leaves or beautifully crafted perfume bottle stoppers made of glass and shaped like flowers. Your Asian wedding favors will be remembered for years to come!
